If you're considering ordering from BloomsyBox, whether for their flower subscription service or one-time gift bouquets, this review is for you. We recently tested their pet-safe Sweet Romance bouquet and had a range of experiences — from a flawless tulip delivery to a frustrating month-long saga of missteps with another bouquet. This article breaks it all down so you can make an informed decision.

What is BloomsyBox?

BloomsyBox originally launched as a flower subscription service — offering recurring deliveries of fresh flowers direct from farms. Over time, they’ve expanded into the gift space, now offering one-time orders through their "Gift A Bouquet" section, which includes pet-safe arrangements, seasonal specials, and more.

They pride themselves on:

  • Working directly with flower farms
  • Shipping fresh, farm-picked blooms
  • Offering pet-safe bouquets (a nice touch for households with animals)
  • Delivering via FedEx

These claims sound great — but how do they hold up in reality? That’s what we set out to discover.

Our Order: The Pet-Safe "Sweet Romance" Bouquet

We placed an order for the Sweet Romance pet-safe bouquet, which, at the time of this writing, has since been removed from their site — possibly due to issues we encountered.

Price

  • With discounts: $72.98 (before tax)
  • Full price: $91.88
  • Shipping method: FedEx (for all deliveries)

Issue #1: Wrong Bouquet Delivered

Our problems began immediately. Instead of receiving the Sweet Romance bouquet, what arrived was a green-tinted bunch of roses — unmistakably their Emerald Dream bouquet. Not only was this not what we ordered, but it lacked the "pet-safe" label we were specifically looking for.

  • Shipping origin: New Jersey
  • Response from support: Apologetic and acknowledged the mistake
  • Resolution: Promised to send the correct bouquet
  • Time until re-shipment: 1 week

Initial Impression

This kind of mix-up is concerning — especially since most people ordering flowers aren’t going to see them firsthand. You’re trusting the company to get it right the first time.

Issue #2: Late, Wilted Second Bouquet from Ecuador

The replacement bouquet was shipped — a full week later — from Ecuador. By the time it arrived (delayed by another day in shipping), the damage had been done:

  • Stems were dry with no moisture protection
  • White roses had started browning
  • Several blooms had detached from the stems
  • Bouquet did not resemble the Sweet Romance images online

We contacted support again. They acknowledged the issue and agreed to try again.

Issue #3: Another Delayed Re-shipment

Once again, BloomsyBox took another week to ship a replacement.

  • Shipping origin: Ecuador again
  • Condition on arrival: Slightly better, but still dried out, with browning roses
  • Still did not match the photos shown online

This was the third attempt and our patience was wearing thin.

Final Resolution

After contacting support for the third time, they informed us that the farm had made substitutions, and offered a 50% refund.

Total time elapsed from initial order to final delivery attempt? About a month.

Key Support Takeaways

  • Support staff was consistently kind and responsive
  • They admitted mistakes and offered compensation
  • But the resolution process was slow and ultimately disappointing

A Bright Spot: The "Pink Peony Tulips"

In the middle of this ordeal, we also ordered the Pink Peony Tulips for a relative — and this delivery was everything we hoped for.

  • Arrived on time
  • Gorgeous condition
  • Lasted over a week
  • Exactly what was advertised

This gives us some hope that BloomsyBox can fulfill their promises — when things go right.

The Bigger Picture: Why This Happens

Farm-Direct Shipping: A Double-Edged Sword

BloomsyBox's model of shipping direct from flower farms has pros and cons.

✅ Pros:

  • Freshly cut flowers (in theory)
  • Lower middleman costs

❌ Cons:

  • Farms may substitute flowers that don’t match what was advertised
  • If the shipping is long (e.g., from Ecuador), freshness can suffer — especially without proper stem hydration
  • Farms may not be aligned with the branding or quality control BloomsyBox promises

The issue is not just a bad bouquet — it’s that the very structure of their business can create unpredictable customer experiences.

Our Verdict on BloomsyBox

While we appreciate the idea of pet-safe bouquets, direct-from-farm freshness, and the flexibility to buy one-time bouquets without a subscription, our experience was frustrating.

From misdeliveries and substitutions to dried, sad-looking flowers, the quality assurance was just not there. Even though their support team was pleasant and tried to make things right, we spent nearly a month trying to get one bouquet — and still never received what was pictured.

Final Recommendation

We do not currently recommend BloomsyBox.

At this time, SendFlowers.io does not list BloomsyBox in our search results due to our concerns with product quality and fulfillment reliability. This may change in the future if their processes improve.
